Question:
How can I find a qualified psych. to do my evaluation?

I just spoke with the office that does my surgeon's psych evals today. Problem.....they don't take Aetna! My surgeon of course does, but they don't. He said I can go to any psych. but prefers it to be one with experience in evaluating WLS patients. Any ideas on how I can find one?    — emilyfink (posted on January 14, 2002)

go to aetna'a website under providers and look up one in your area...

when I did my psych eval. I was on my own to find a doctor, so I called around various psychologists to see who had done a WLS psych. eval before as well as someone who took my insurance. I found one guy, talked to him about his feelings on WL, he seemed to support it, so I went with him. He was great, and I was approved no problem! So my advice ... check out the yellow pages!
