Question:
What is the age limit for surgeries?

I will be 59 years old in July. Somewhere in my quest, I seem to remember seeing an age limit of 70 years old. Are there any other old timers out there? I would like, as well,to hear from health professionals.    — [Anonymous] (posted on June 17, 1999)

Hi Oldtimer, I am 57 and have talked to a number in this site who are our age. Some have had the surgery and some are like me waiting for it. I have been told a few different ages. 65, 75 etc. We have a lot more living to do so I'm going for it, so I can walk and even get on the lawn mower which is hard for me cause my belly gets in the way. I say we are young yet and nows the time to do this.

I was 54 when I had my surgery last year (55 now) and today a young man in my office refused to believe I was over 40! wow. There are doctors who set upper age limits on surgeries but there's no law that says you can't have wls at 60 or 70. Your health will improve dramatically as a result and your age will start to drop :-)) Good luck Susan [email protected]
