Question:
Is anyone having diarrhea most of the time ten months out

I am having diarrhea most of the time, once in awhile it is loose stools but mostly diarrhea. I am wondering if this is any thing to worry about. Also I have a football shaped bump on my midriff that was never there even when I weight 300 pounds. The dr has seen it and is not concerned but I do not know what it could be I have an incisional hernia but dr said it is not from that.    — Mary W. (posted on January 27, 2005)

Did the doc say what he thought the bump was? When you lay down put your had on the bump and cough or try to push out your tummy does it buldge more and get hard? Is there any pain, does it hurt when you exert yourself? You could have a hernia, or it could be a fat deposit. Are you on prevacid or any meds for gerd? You may have alot of acid and need something like prevacid or nexium...Or you could have a kink in the bowel and only letting water pass through the stool. Anything new in your diet? Try only clear liquids for a couple of days and graduly add solids, as if it was the flu, if this doesnt help, or you get fever or pain call your doc ASAP. There are so many things it could be, you might call your doc to be on the safe side. Rosemary

I have developed the Diareah thing, I was told I developed lactose intolerance from the surgery. Try to eliminate Milk products from your diet and see what happens. As far os the other problem I have no idea. Good luck.

I experienced this for the first two years. For me it was a combination of fats/sugars and the bypassed portion. I was also informed that the galbladder removal can cause this as well, which I also had at 6mos out. All is good and normal at 3 years out so, it does get better.
