The pysch people that excepted my insurance requirred a three part pysch
evaluation in order to determine if I was to be approved by them for the
surgery. If I would have went to them, I would have to pay the normal
specialist fee of $25 dollars for the 1st visit but for the 2nd and 3rd if
If they did not find that I had a pysch issur/problem then I would be
responsible to pay the ENTIRE fee for the 2nd and 3rd visit before they
would send the documentation to my surgeant. This would have been $325 if
I dod not have issues/problems identified by them. Needless to say I did
not use their service. The nurse at my surgeants office gave me a card for
a Dr. that dealt with getting this type of approval and as she handed it to
me she said she is good and will not waste your time or money. Before
deciding who to go to, I looked for others that excepted my insurance and
there were a lot, the ones that I contacted, when I told that I needed a
evaluation for Gastric Bypass surgery, they said that their fee is a flat
$900 and they would need me to pay up fornt and get the insurance company
to reinburse me. Well I called the office from the card and there fee was
only $200 and the process takes about 2 hours. I had to pay cash up front
and submit to the insurance for reimburstment. Well I went with the
recommended Pysch. She was excellent did not waiste my time or money.
