Morbidities are life threatening conditions. So the answer would be no. However, does your insurance have provisions for other issues. Mine says something to the effect of "joint disease--blah, blah -- ambulation problems" and includes this as a reason for the surgery. This insurance, no co-morbidities are needed. Just certain conditions from different categories. Check your policy. Co-morbids are USUALLY respiratory or cardiac

The medical definition of the word "morbid" is; "causing disease or injury." Sorry, but I disagree with the assertion that co-morbidities must be life threatening and so does my surgeon. A co-morbidity can have an impact on your quality of life. If your obesity is causing the "injury" that is that cause of your sciatic pain, then it is a co-morbidity.

I used this under my list of comorbities. The pain I have had for years gets worse as I gain weight. My surgeon seemed to agree.
