Question:
Sometimes my palse races when I go up and down steps

I'm 4 weeks post-op and I noticed that when I go up and down steps my palse races and I can feel my heart beating really fast but after a while it slowes down. Has anyone else had this?    — Debbie E. (posted on May 13, 2003)

I am 3 weeks post op and the same exact thing happens to me. I am going to ask my surgeon about it on Friday, but at least you know you aren't alone here.

That is very normal. You have been more or less at rest for a while with your recovery and your body will take time to get back up to par. Take your time and go gradually, you will soon find your heart no longer races as you climb the stairs. Good luck and God Bless
