Question:
Stoma narrowing/closing?
I'd seen on here some time ago where someone had to have a procedure done to open their narrowing stoma. I think I'm having that problem as I haven't been able to keep anything down in 5 days...even water is starting to come right back up. I am 10 wks post and okay until now....called PCP and they want me in tomorrow and will probably hook me up to an iv and hospitalize me :-( Being self pay this scares me tremendously. If anyone knows of the procedure/scope name I'd sure appreciate it. I'm sicker than a dog with a sinus infection and two root canals in two days, arghhhh Calgon take me away..... — Gail R. The procedure for dialating the stoma is an Endoscopy. I am still pre-op,
but I understand that it is not that bad.

Gail- I just read your question and as of yesterday I posted one alittle
like that. My friend is three weeks post op and can't keep anything down
either. She was fine at first but after two weeks started throwing
everything up. Yesterday she went in for another x-ray and they found out
it was a kink...block. They are having to go back in today to un kink it.
Her Dr. said that this sometimes happens as you heal and everything goes
back into place it just kinks up. I do hope that this is not your case. I
will pray for you tonight that everything goes well. I would conceder a
x-ray for safe keeping though. Good luck and God bless.

Ann and Donna, thank you so much for your input. I was hospitalized today
and put on an iv lock, I have to return to the hosp every 8 hrs over the
weekend. Dr seems to think it's like a "furball" obstruction
(maybe I should lick some oil off of my paw!). Oh I wanna eat soooooooo
bad, not really hungry, I just wanna taste something...anyway if it doesn't
break up over the weekend then the scope will be used. Thanks again for
your input~

Endoscopic dilation. Read my profile for my story - this was horrible for
