Question:
Does anyone have sporadic pain where the filter was placed in the groin?

I am wondering if it is possible for me to feel the filter. I am six weeks post op. When I walk, or breathe deeply, it seems that I can feel the actual filter in my vein. Is this possible? I have been having pain in the same area that they placed it. I can't think of what else could be causing it. Thanks, Junith    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on February 16, 2005)

The Greenfield filter is sent up your groin, but its final resting place is in your chest. If your groin is hurting, you might want to check on it.
