Question:
How common are strictures?

I am just had the open RNY a few days ago and have been reading a lot about strictures. Everything is going really well for me and I am a little concerned at strictures. Any information would be great. Much thanks!!    — jerrysings (posted on April 13, 2009)

My surgeon said only 8% of patients get them...but I was one and had to have the scope to open it 2 times (1 week apart)but doing fine now. You will know if you do because NOTHING will stay down. I am 8 months out and have lost 135 pounds!!
