Question:
How much is the the cost of surgery if Paying straight CASH?

I really think that depends on the surgeon. For example I live in VA, and I
know a girl who is going to the same Dr. I am going to. Her insurance will
not cover the surgery, so she is paying out of pocket. She has to pay
18,000. She said the Dr. was very willing to make payment arrangements. Her
date is set for December 13.

Hi~
I had the MGB and my TOTAL expense was $17,000. That included if I would
have had complications due to surgery and had to stay 1 extra night or
20!!!!

It cost me around $15,000 total for laparoscopic banding in Seattle. My

a common figure for a DS which is the most espensive proceedure of the
three in mexico or brazil by either of the best surgeons is about 12k for
doctor and hospital. the DS is hard to get covered in the states so self
pay is common, come to the ds forum and ask, its a harder to get but so
much easier to live with. I will pay for a ds instead of having a rny for
free.

I am not sure where you are located but I am in South Florida and my
surgeon fee is $12,500.00 (cash price). There are financing options if you
use the alternate hospital which is Holy Cross Hospital. Wish you luck and
I hope you find the answers you are seeking. I am 4 weeks post op and doing

depemds on the hospital and surgeron. I have no insurance and had to pay
cash and my told for surgery, and hospital stay was $24,000. the surgeron
was only $6000.oo. Money well spent!

Ileana,
I went to Spain for my DS with Dr. Aniceto Baltasar. At the time of my
open BPD/DS surgery (3.5 years ago) I paid $15,000 for surgery, travel,
everything. Of course, lap surgery is the wave of the future - totally

I was told laproscopic where I went was 28-30k that is everything pre op
surg, and some post op checkups. If you would have any complications they
would be separate charges...
