Question:
What do they use for official BMI?

I was weighed at the bariatric information seminar, and weighed at my doctor's office. i am borderline at bmi #40 and there was quite a difference in my weight between seminar time and dr. visit time..... when and where do 'they' weigh you and which weight do 'they' use for your official bmi to send to your insurance for approval? thanks to all that can answer. p.s. i am working with pacific bariatric in san diego.    — [Anonymous] (posted on March 5, 2002)

Hi, since your doctor's office is going to submit your paperwork for insurance approval, I'm going to assume that the weigh in at his office will probably be the one they look at. The last documented weigh in was what I was told is used. Good Luck to you :)
