Question:
newly banded w/ lots of questions

hi everyone ! im new , just banded on 1/24 and just wondering if everyone else got very swollen where the port was placed , also have a HUGE bruise. i gained ten pounds while in the hospital ? normal also ? surgery went very well , i had lost 27 lbs on the pre-op diet and and 10 lbs prior to that so my dr. said that helped. im belching alot feels really weird any comments would be great and very helpful ! thanks !    — partyof5 (posted on January 26, 2006)

Hello, Theresa .. and Welcome to the other side. "VERY swollen?" Not usual. Bruising, tenderness in normal. Also normal to feel some warmth over the area --- but any seeping along the incision line, increasing redness & warmth, get thee to the surgeon's office for a check-up. ............... Now, about gaining weight while in the hospital or during the first two weeks -- totally normal. Eventually you will pee it all out and drop 15 pounds. .... Congratulations on being able to belch.
