Has anyone made payment plan with hopsital

My insurance has written exclusion about "obesity" and they have said verbally that the surgery would be denied. But I have to go ahead and have the surgery, submit the claim, let them deny it and then do the appeal. So this means that I am considered self pay. The doctor will let me may half and set up a payment plan with him but the hospital told me that I would have to pay the whole amount $16,000. Has anyone got any ideas how to deal with the hospital into setting up a payment plan.    — GAIL J. (posted on July 17, 2002)
