Question:
how long do you have to wait before you have sex, after surgery? Is one position

from what i understand if you feel like it, it's ok. there is no reason you can't have sex execpt for soreness/pain.

I had laproscopic RNY and was told to wait 2 weeks.

For me it was about a week (5 of those days was spent in the hospital). I didn't have any restrictions and used my comfort level as a guide. Obviously you don't want to do anything where you are compromising your incision and sure don't want anyone laying on you. If the spirit moves you and you feel up to it just let your pain level be your guide. Your muscles are going to be sore but you will be able to tell if you are in pain. If so STOP! You'll be surprised at how creative you can be if properly motivated LOL! Good luck.

Susan Kennedy had the best answer thus far....LOL.If the mood hits you and you're in any discomfort, you may want to try taking something for pain,just prior to the event. You don't want to be in the middle of things and discover you can't sucessfully/comfortably complete your task.

Your sex organs are nowhere near your surgical sites, so you can have sex whenever you want to, but be careful to keep weight off the site and don't do anything to pull on your wound.

My doctor said 3 weeks after surgery. 3 weeks it was my husband was counting the hours lol.
