HI! IT MAY HAMPER A LITTLE BIT. THE WEIGHT YOU GAIN FROM DEPO DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE AMOUNT OF FOOD YOU EAT IT HAS TO DO WITH HORMONES. BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE AS BAD AS WHEN YOU WERE 16.

Do to some female problems, I had to go back on the pill (which I would recommend ANYDAY over the depo, but that's just my opinion). When my doctor originally suggested it, I became panicky and explained to her that I had WLS and had fought so hard to make it to this point with my weight. She smiled and assured me that actually, only about 5-6 pounds would be the actual weight gain IF I gained any. I looked at her like she was just crazy and didn't understand how I felt and then she let me in on her little secret. She was a WLS patient too. That meant she knew EXACTLY what my fears were concerning weight gain. She explained that people that have gone through all the trouble of WLS usually pay better attention to any change in weight (since we are generally all scale-a-holics) and we could adjust as needed. Relax and just remember that you will need to be a little extra careful.

according to my gyn if you gain more than 5-10 pounds it is not because of the shot. Examine your health habits, what you are eating and how much you are exercising.
