Question:
Why does your shoe size get smaller after you lose weight?

I am so baffled, because I have read many profiles where they have said that their shoe size has gotten smaller...I dont understand because, I did not think your foot could shrink...Maybe I am wrong...If anyone knows the answer to this question please enlighten me....    — Ang B. Angie, Often times when we gain weight, our feet also get chubby thus requiring a larger size. Thats why overweight people that dont have access to expensive shoes in EE widths or bigger go to "Payless" and wear shoes that are brutal on their feet. My sister has chubby feet where mine werent that chubby but naturally wide (Now I have skinny wide feet!).

The feet expand because feet can get fat as well as the rest of the body, but another reason is that with so much excess weight the pressure can actually cause the feet to spread out causing the arch to fall and the feet to get flat and wider. Another reason is simple swelling from excess fluid and poor circulation. Hope this helps answer your question:-)
