Question:
Referral Wait time?

While I realize there are many variables, I'm wondering what the average wait time is from PCP visit to actually getting the referral? Any info is appreciated. Thanks!    — Morgan B. (posted on October 5, 1999)

My PCP referred me in May 1999. My first appointment with the surgeon was July 2. I had approval by mid August and my surgery was on 9/22/99. Since I went to the surgeon my PCP referred me to and did everything by the book it went smoothly. My surgeon was booked out about 2 1/2 months. That is why it took as long as it did. I have CIGNA by the way. Good luck.
