Well United Health Care has a new requirement that I have to have a year of diet modification to qualify. I am so irritated that I can't talk without my bottom lip shaking so I decided to type to all of you. Does anyone know what I have to do to make this happen it doesn't seem to be working for me there is always something in the way of me starting my new like.    — TIFFANY B. If you were already approved for surgery, I wouldn't think you would have to meet the new requirements. Check with your insurance company and/or your surgeon.

My insurance stopped covering wls January 1st. However my employers coverage runs from April to April. So I'm still covered until then. Possibly it would be the same for you. Good Luck.

Tiffany, I think the others are right about being approved already - so you should not fall under any new guidelines, however if they insist - you must have gone to the doctor long before now months ago regarding your weight. I had to have this and all they wanted was my doctor visits and how much I weighed - my doctor weighs her patient every visit regardless of medical complaints - so just have your internal doctor write down the visits and your corresponding weights.
