Hi Sally, Congrats on your surgery being here! I had the RNY but started at 442, two weeks before surgery. I was down to 421 on the say of surgery, thanks to the protein and veggies only, my surgeon requires. I am 7-1/2 months post op and down a total of 169 lbs. I only have 3 lbs to go and I will be severely obese. No longer morbidly obese. I'm looking forward to that!
You will be shocked how things change and how quickly. In a short time you will see increased mobility and things that you have avoided doing will be done without even thinking about it. Life is going to amazing and getting better every day.
There is a Yahoo group you might want to consider joining. It is for people who weigh/weighed over 400 lbs. We are a group of people who truly know what the life of a SMO is. We'd love to have you. You have to submit a request to the moderator so it may take a day or so to be approved. Hope to see you there! Chris D.

Sally, The best of luck to you, we all are pulling for your new journey. As for me I started out on 7/15/03 at 417 lbs, I am now 80 lbs lighter and feeling so darn good. I stopped taking high blood pressure meds, NO MORE CANE and keep giving those oversized clothes away. Just follow your docs instructions, some are not that easy, but the MOST IMPORTANT thing (to me anyway) was drink those fluids. If not u can do like me and end up in the hospital for 3 days, severe deyhdration. BEST OF LUCK and God bless on your new journey
