Question:
CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON DEALING WITH THIS DENIAL FRON CIGNA

MY SURGERY WAS BOOKED FOR AUG.19,03 I HAD ALL MY PRE-OPS DONE SENT CIGNA EVERYTHING POSSIABLE LETTERS FROM MY PCP,GYN AND MY WEIGHT DR. THAT I HAVE BEEN WITH FOR 7 YEARS AND STILL WITH I'VE CALLED THEM MYSELF AND EXPLAINED EVERY DIET PROGRAM I HAVE BEEN THROUGH SINCE 1990 JENNY CRAIG,WEIGHT WATCHERS,GYMS TO HEALTHFOOD DEIT AIDS THEY HAVE NO MERCY WHATS SO EVER I HAVE ALREADY PUT SOME MONEY INTO THIS AND I AM VERY UPSET I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN DO I DO NOT WANT TO BE ON PILLS THE REST OF MY LIFE I HAVE BEEN ON THEM FOR 7 YEARS HELP PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!    — Nazarene D. The exact same situation happened to me. You need to write an appeal letter ASAP. I was approved with 2 weeks. I have heard that Cigna will deny everyone the first time. They now require 2 26 weeks of dieting history with the last one in the 12 months prior to your surgery date. Keep fighting and good luck.

Cigna was yucky, they need to read their mission statement again. I had to appeal. Hang in there. Get someone's name and call often! Check out my profile for tips!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR REPLYS. CIGNA DENIED ME BECAUSE THEY NEEDED ALONG WITH THE 4 LETTERS TIME FRAMES FOR THE LAST 26 WEEKS. I'VE SPOKEN TO MY WEIGHT DR. AND HE IS GOING TO FAX IT TO MY SURGEON SO PLEASEEEEEEEE WISH ME LUCK THANKS AGAIN...
