Question:
Recommendation in San Antonio
Can anyone recommend a Gastroenterologist who is WLS friendly in San Antonio? Any of you who read my last question on 3/14 know that I may need a second doctor since my first one is not being cooperative and refuses to give clearance for the surgery. I do not want to waste my time with another doctor like her, so I thought I would see if anyone could recommend someone in San Antonio. Thanks a bunch! — Dawn P. (posted on March 17, 2003)

If you have picked out a surgeon, you might call his office and see who he
recommends. Any WLS surgeon should know of a gastroenterologist or two,
who are supportive of the surgery. The surgeons sometimes have to work
with the gastro docs on both pre and post op issues.

Me again. My surgeon is in Houston, so his office does not have any
recommendations here in San Antonio. They could recommend someone in
Houston, but I would rather take care of this here so I do not have to
travel anymore than already necessary. Thanks.

hi dawn - i have a great dr. to recommend , but i am not sure about how he
feels towards the surgery . but knowing him , he is okay with it . he took
great care of my mother while she was his patient . i met and talked with
him afew times and my mother and family loved him . his name is dr. joseph
e. johnson (joe), he has offices on babcock,e.euclid, and madison oak . the
# at the stone oak (madison oak) office is 545-2555 , it is worth a try .
if you go to him , tell him the family of peggy zimmerman has nothing but
utmost respect for him , he really is a good dr. good luck
