Teresa...congratulations on your recent surgery. I can sympathize with you feeling like poop right now, but PLEASE don't set yourself as a failure. YOU ARE STRONGER THAN THAT. You made a decision to LIVE, no matter what. You might feel bloated and yecchy from the IVs and the general shock to your body of having MAJOR SURGERY, my goodness--not only were most of us cut open to various degrees (depending on open or lap): our plumbing was rearranged! It takes a while to fully adjust to the new configuration and work out the "bugs"! So be kind to yourself. Follow the doctor's rules, if you find yourself weepy and depressed get meds for depression to help yourself through your adjustment period (make sure it is something you won't get dependent on), THROW AWAY YOUR SCALE, and just get weighed when you go for your follow up visits. Take measurements in between those times. If you do all this I can promise you that you'll have happy results! Take care. Love, hugs, and peace---terry---open RNY 4 April 2003

~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.

Teresa: I read your question about drinking too much water and am really curious about the answer. My surgery date is 6 Aug, and I too had the same thoughts - since you can't be on anything but clear liquids, is there such a thing as too much? Hoping to read the response before I leave for Houston tomorrow morning and wishing you the best of luck in your recovery. God Bless You.

The "weight" is nearly over - Woooo Hooooo!! Only a wake up until you leave us pre-ops and go to the other side. May God bless you and grant wisdom to your surgical team. Save me a place on the "losing" side LOL
