One Year Surgiversary!

May 03, 2011

One year post - pictures, stats and memories!  Just like in the movie,  "It's a Wonderful Life" I feel like I have been offered a second chance to try again appreciate my life.  It may be cliche but it is true...I have a new lease on life as they say and I am taking full advantage of doing everything I always secretly wanted to do but was physically incapable of doing previously.

I had my RNY surgery one year ago today on May 3, 2011. Pictures and stats below.

Goals accomplished - I ran 2 5K races without walking at all.  I ran a 4 mile race with no walking.  I ran a 10K (6.2 miles) with no walking.  I rode a bike for 10 miles.  I lifted weights.  I swam laps daily last summer.  I cross my legs daily :-). I ride on airplanes and pull the belt on the selt belt a ton to tighten instead of sucking it in and pretending I have it fastened when I don't.  I run with my husband and we have an active life now.  I am still working on reaching my goal weight.  I have 9 lbs to go but I believe that I will reach my goal of a normal BMI before my 2 year surgiversary!

Thankful for so much but mostly I feel like I have a second chance at life and the opportunity to enjoy an active lifestyle!
