Brand New Year...here we go.....

Jan 05, 2010

Well...here we go with another new year, new decade.  I am so thankful for my sleeve.  I am so grateful that I have a tool whereby I CAN control the way I think about food for the rest of my life. Food no longer controls me!!!!  To make it through the holidays with no thought whatsoever of overstuffing myself. I still managed to eat healthy and had a very small piece of pumpkin pie that I had made with fat free condensed milk.  It tasted just as good as the fattening version. And had fat free cool whip on top. This is the main thing I have learned through my 18 months post surgery.  That the foods I eat still taste good it's all about the choices I make. It just takes a little creativity and thinking things through to come up with ideas of recipes or snacks that taste very similar to the bad habits I used to have.  I don't at all feel that I am denying myself anything I want. It's been wonderful to see my eating habits change to healthy ones and I actually like the way I eat and the taste of my foods.  When I have tried to even taste of something that I used to eat on an almost daily basis such as french fries??? They taste disgusting to me...like a mouth full of grease.  They sure don't taste like potatoes.  I always come here to this website because it is so great to read what others on here have to say and so many of you have inspired me to carry on..., encouraged me to keep pushing forward when I may be discouraged or feel like I messed up.  I love reading the questions others have posted and trying to encourage others whenever I can.  This in turn encourages me.  My prayer for all of you on here is that you have the best health ever in 2010 and achieve your goals and desires.  God bless all of you for being on here and encouraging me over and over again!!!!
