A Little About Me

I'm a newbie here. I'm currently in the Pre-Op stage and am completing the insurance requirements. Right now I am in month 2 of the 6 months required of medically supervised weight loss. I work with a nutritionist and a doctor that specializes in weight loss. I really appreciate their support and am making small but steady changes towards a healthy lifestyle. I truly want this to be a lifestyle change and not something I "have to do" after the surgery.

My biggest helps right now are MyFitnessPal (I use the Android App) and my Fitbit Flex. I'm a little bit of a gadget geek so to me it is almost like a game to use these things.

I like to cook and use mainly natural/organic ingredients if I can. I have found that after I cut out almost all processed food and preservatives, my asthma and overall health improved. One thing that scares me about WLS is having to drink protein drinks, etc. with large amounts of artificial flavorings or sugar substitutes. I guess I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

I'm in my late 20's, married, and working towards my master's degree. I also work part-time so sometimes things can get a little busy.
