pre-op testing

Feb 04, 2010

I finished all of my pre-op testing this morning and everything went well! My interview with the bariatric nurse was great...she was very knowledgeable and super nice. Actually, everyone was very nice...with the exception of the radiology tech who did my gallbladder ultrasound.

She thought she was being nice (as is usually the case). She told me that I didn't need bariatric surgery...I just needed to go to the gym. Wow! Really? That never occurred to me. What a great idea...let's shut this thing down...I'm headed to the gym!! I couldn't be mad at her...she only weighs twelve pounds and really thought that she was passing on great advice. I did speak with the bariatric nurse about it anyway. The nurse assured me that the tech would "get some training". I kind-of feel bad for her, but she shouldn't say things like that to people.

Anywho...let's see...what's left? I have two appointments next week. One with the dietitian and one group nutrition class. Then my last appointment with Dr. Moazzez is the following week. That will be it!! Woohoo! So, we're on track and ready to go for March 1.

Oh, and on a funny note, have any of you noticed that our spell check would like to change bariatric to geriatric? LOL
