Me vs. food part 1934857139847529387519841894523984541238753895

I feel like all I blog about is food, bloody food (mmmmmmm food).

In 5 days I will be at my 4 month mark. I am finally feeling comfortable with this surgery. I take in about 800-1000 calories per day, I do a little exercise almost every day and my clothes fit alot better or they are too big. I have always been a big eater, I loved my food and I still do. I try not to worry about what I am eating as long as it is a protein source. I do not have a big menu to choice from, I normally eat meat or cheese. I do not eat many different types of carbs. I have been doing my best to avoid them. They are so good but so bad. I have finally stopped craving potato chips. I was having a couple of Pringles everyday. They were good, I did not feel bad about eating them because I did not eat the can but only 5/day. I have been trying to eat like a "normal" person. Some days that is really hard. I have been able to basically tolerate everything I have tried except  a carrot muffin top I ate. It was very good but it made me sick. Wont be doing that again.  I can have a Hersey kiss or 2. I have them and although I may want more, I can walk away, rather than needing to eat the whole bag. I am very grateful for that. I think that I eat too much for a person  that has gotten this surgery, but I do not over eat. I do need to try different recipes but I am not much of an adventurer when it comes to cooking. Some of my main staples are assorted nuts non-salted and protein shakes. I am not stressing it as much as I used to.

There has been many good things in my life these past months.
I really enjoy being active. I am not talking about going to the gym, I am talking about being able to go out in the yard and do some yard work. I love planting flowers, bushes etc. Last year, I was too fat and and too many back problems that my yard suffered. I am so happy that I am able to do stuff this year. Homer and I are building a patio this weekend for my little pool. I am so excited about this. Homer is too.
I love that I am able to ride my bike!!!!!!! I haven't ridden my bike in 4 years. It is awesome!
I have started a job and I really like it.  I started in March. It is part time position in the afternoons and I get my weekends off. I feel very fortunate that I work with such great people at such a great place.
And I am thankful for the few really great friends that I have have. They have stuck by my side these past couple of months. Some parts of my journey has been really smooth and other times I have needed my morale boosted and they have been there for me whether they have realized it or not.

I don't know what else to blog about. I am happy that I don't stress about food as much, I am more active, which has brought Homer and me closer together, I have a job I enjoy and have some really great friends. Life couldn't be much better right now.

Peace out,
Mich
