7 1/2 Months post-op/STALL!

May 30, 2010

I have been fluctuating btx 184 lbs and 188 lbs, even saw 190 one day last week!  This has been going on for 7 weeks now!!!  I am so frustrated!  I have been dealing with a bulging disk in my lumbar spine making it difficult to walk, let alone do other aerobic exercise.  I was so looking forward to the nice weather to get out walking around the lake, and as soon as that came, I have this disk act up and end up in physical therapy again.  I am keeping my calories btx 850 and 1100, one day I went up to about 2000 and dropped 2 lbs the next day- go figure!  I know I am going to be stuck unless I get my body moving.  If any friends out there have Lumbar disk issues, what works for you, that may acutally even help the joints?  Mine pinches a nerve and I cannot lift my R leg to walk at times, and sitting is the absolute worst, seems to throw my spine out of alignment and compress the disk into bulging out, then when I stand the vertabrae pinch the disk=Pain!  I also admit, that I have Zero motivation to get out and move.  All I want to do is sleep, really.  My Iron levels were in the toilet, but I have been sort of mega supplementing for more than 1 month, but still, zero energy.  It's like, even though I am, at my lowest, 88 lbs lighter, I have no energy to LIVE my life.  I dont feel outwardly depressed, I have been on 20 mg of lexapro for about 8-10 years for anxiety DO, but it's like I am sleeping my life away.  Not good at all.  I will contact my PCP this next week to have blood drawn again, check my iron levels, possibly consider changing my lexapro to something else.  Mostly, this blog is for me to reference in the future to see what was going on when I was stalled for so long.  Been focusing on Protein, 74-100+ grams a day is my goal.  I still drink at least one protein shake with coffee for breakfast each day, getting in about 1/2-1/3 of my grams of protein with it.  I want to "want" to get out and enjoy life, to live it, and have the energy to DO IT!
