2010...My Time To Shine!!

Jan 01, 2010

2010 is here! This is going to be a pretty great year for me. I can't wait to have this surgery.
I'm staying strong with the Atkin's diet. The scale refused to budge for about a week, but its starting to move again.

I did my psych eval yesterday. Oh my goodness, that personality profile is crazy! It is so random. True/false questions. One might be: I would enjoy being a librarian. And the next might be: sometimes I feel like worms are crawling around in my brain. LOL! WOW!

By the time I got home, I already had a CC of the email he'd sent to my surgeon. Man, that was fast! I appreciate when health care professionals realize that time is of the essence! : ) Apparently, I am sane. It was actually pretty interesting to read thru and it was amazing to see how stressful times matched up with weight gain in the timeline of my life.

Boy, did we have a heck of a night last night! The psych eval was done in Moses Lake, a fairly large town about an hour outside of Grand Coulee. We decided to go to Goodwill to find some pants in smaller size. I bought a size 18/20 lime green skirt that is so adorable. If I can wear it this summer I will be so happy! Anyway, on the way out of town some IDIOT with no insurance and no license t-boned us coming out of a parking lot. We were just driving down the road minding our own business when BAM! Ugh. At least we have full coverage and uninsured motorist protection. I spent the remainder of the day in the ER with a bruised up chest and whiplash. My husband and kids were completely fine, thank goodness. What a scary thing.

So we finally got home thinking "PHEW! What a day!". Unfortunatley it wasn't over... Libby's g-tube (a feeding tube that goes into her stomach) fell out sometime during the day. By the time we noticed, the stoma had shrunk down too far to put it back in myself. Our local ER wasn't comfortable helping us. I spent the next two hours on the phone calling all the hospitals in 100 mile radius (I was actually on the phone arguing with an ER nurse as the clock struck midnight... Happy New Year!) before I finally gave in and took her to Spokane. I knew the roads were terrible, slushy and icy, going that way, but didn't really have a choice. The normal 2 hour trip took over 4. The were able to save her stoma site, thank God. It was a pretty simple procedure. It bothers me that our local hospital is so scared of our daughter... anyway, I could rant on forever about that.

Made it home in one piece and I am operating on ZERO sleep! Ugh... gonna sleep like a log tonight.

Next step: Submit to insurance! Whooooo Hooooo!
