And the testing(of my ENTIRE life) continues...

Feb 04, 2010

OK so 2010 has been a test from the very first day. And there is no rest...the testing just continues in EVERY aspect of my life.
~Financially...OMG...how much can we be tested???? So Ron and I are thinking it's time to downsize. Seriously...bye-bye 3000 sq ft house...we found a 1200 sq ft townhouse that we BOTH LOVE!!! Hoping we'll be approved and on our way in next few weeks. Positives...the rent is $500 less/month. And the utilities have to be significantly less.
More pluses: has an attached garage; a 24 hour fitness center and sauna(yea yea yea...can we say NO MORE EXCUSES????); gorgeous pool(hey I may LOVE this) a media center/cozy movie theater that can be reserved and the particular one we were shown is up on a hill with an UNBELIEVABLE view of the Vegas strip.

~I used to have "crappy carb" days...maybe 2-3 month. OMG OMG OMG...these past 2 weeks have been sooooo stressful...THEY have been CRAPPY CARB WEEKS. Must refocus and get back on right track.

~Exercise...what's that?????? Seriously....SLACKER since start of 2010. So I need this fitness center complete with elliptical; recumbent bike and treadmill. If and when the move happens...start slow but visit the gym at LEAST 4-5 times a week and continue while increasing the time spent on each workout. And I'm jonesing on using that sauna...
good workouts followed by sauna time.
Crossing my fingers;swinging chickens that this move takes place.

~Missing Ashley....helping out family out of state. Had an emergency gastrectomy this week. Her surgeon was APPALLED by the crappy work her RNY surgeon had done. My BFF is lucky to be alive...she had a fistula of her pouch; a hernia in her small intestine and her bowel was twisted.
So what she thought was bad luck(breaking wire of her gastric pacemaker) was actually a huge BLESSING in disguise.

I know it's February...but is it too late to reiterate Resolutions for 2010????
Here goes:

~less(mucho less) snacking
~increase my water intake(have noticed that only drinking 48-60 oz/day down from 80-96 oz)
~reach for the water bottle with Crystal Light instead of carby snacks..stop this STAT!!!!!!
~increase intake of protein...shoot for 90+ grams every single day.
~consistent logging on dailyplate
~4-5 workouts/week...even if don't move...still have my OWN equipment to accomplish this
~get my head out of my BUTT
~back to basics.

I admitted to Ron last night that I'm getting nervous/scared. I'm trying/eating more things that I have NO BUSINESS eating and I'm finding that I'm able to eat more these days...yea over 2 years post op BUT that REALLY SCARES ME TO DEATH!!! So even though I CAN eat more doesn't mean I have to...portion control is the key and necessary to be a success.

I continue to come here to OH for the support that I need/require and to update entries on my profile so that I remember/realize where I stand and what I'm going through.
