Surgery scheduled for Tuesday, can I ask a few questions?

What everyone else said.  And they made me do a pregnancy test.  I was 52 and post-menopausal.  Go figure.

Other than the IV set-up, everything happens when you're out.  Catheter and intubation are over and out by the time you're in recovery.  They want you up and walking as soon as possible.  My throat caused me the most discomfort when I woke up in recovery, but it passed.

Just stay determined.  If you find you're freaking out, ask for some happy juice before they take you into the OR.  Best of luck!

I just remembered another thing. Sometime during the day after the surgery, your surgeon will examine you and determine whether you can go home that day or stay an extra day.
