Is spicy food a thing from the past after VSG? I'm in Texas we do spicy.

My sleeve has no problem with spicy food.  I can eat anything - in small quantities.

best wishes,

Carol

I don't think so...but the only trouble is you can't really offset with the bread/rice because they take up too much room.

I have problems with spicy...what others with me say it's not hot, it's burning my mouth and stomach..I have always loved hot and spicy, but try and stay away from it if possible..Hope you can get away with it!

I have no problems with spicy foods.  My nutritionist said spicy is ok but only to the extent you can tolerate it without drinking liquids to cool off the burn.

I avoided spicy in the beginning as a precaution but now my sleeve tolerates it fine.

I'm in Southwestern New Mexico, home of the world's best green chile.  I made sure that that was one thing I would not have to give up.  Doc said to try it but it was mostly up to the individual.  I used to like my chile reasonable spicy.  Since the surgery may spicy tolerance has probably tripled.  It has to be atomic before I even register it nowadays.

No trouble at all with spicy. Curry shrimp, pulled pork with spicy BBQ, Buffalo chicken-- no issues! Granted, I've had zero heartburn since surgery, but I've been OK.
