When did you tolerate raw veggies?

Hello fellow sleevees!

Im just wondering when you guys were able to tolerate raw veggies, specifically salads, celery, carrots, broccoli, etc.

Tomorrow is my 2 month surgiversary and I haven't had any discomfort from eating anything yet, but in have not yet tried any raw veggies or chewy meats like steak or pork. The worst thing I feel sometimes is a little stuck for a minute when I eat too big a bite of chicken if it's a little on the dry side.

There's no info in my plan from my surgeon about raw veggies. I emailed my nut but sometimes it takes a week or so to get back to me and my next appointment isn't for another month. So I thought I would poll you guys.

I've read that some people never tolerate salad again, and the thought of that makes me so sad. But I'm also really scared to try something too soon and feel awful afterward, or worse yet, injure my sleeve.

Thanks in advance guys!

Feed the raw plant matter to the cow. Eat the cow. You get all the benefits of the pre-processed veggies, but none of the horrid flavor.

I tried raw veggies at about 2 months post op when I was cleared for regular food, the only thing I had a problem with was lettuce and corn. I tried lettice again a week later and It was just fine, I still have trouble with corn, my stomach just doesn't like it! But everyone is different so your just gone have to test it out and see! But I hope that helped a little!

I started eating a small amount of salad at month 3. I did not have any troubles with it.

I started raw veggies at 3 months.  I had only small servings for a while because there wasn't much room in the tummy after the dense protein!  But I didn't have any trouble with any veggies.

Best of luck,

Carol

Yes...This is how it was for me too. At 8 months out I can eat salads now with no problem, but I always make sure I eat more Protein than salad. :-)

Sometimes i still have trouble and other times I'm fine.  Salads are easy but things like fresh beans or anything crunchy sometimes sit uncomfortably in my sleeve and don't seem to digest.  : /
