What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Good morning, OH friends!
I am headed across the pond on a 12 day business trip to Ireland and England on Saturday - so be on the lookout for Pam's daily menu posting whilst I am away lol.
I am a little nervous about making my protein numbers but I have packed 5 Premier Protein shakes, 4 protein bars, a few packets of Syntrax nectar, a container of almonds, and 3 workout outfits. So I have no excuse! Wish me luck - I really don't enjoy being away from my routine (and my kitchen scale) this early out, so I am slightly nervous. Not to mention, has anyone ever been sober in Dublin??? LOL!
My menu is so freaking boring - working my way through leftovers!
On a separate note, I am having my hair highlighted/roots dyed (gray)/trim today and it's official...I have teleflovia effluvium or whatever it's called...hair is falling out everywhere :( I am mildly concerned the dye will make me bald, but I have enough gray that I guess I have to take that chance. I would not be a cute bald person.
Time Since Surgery: 4 months and a week
B: 12 oz unsweetened almond milk, 1.25 scoops of Syntrax matrix mint cookie
L: 3 oz Boar's Head turkey, 1 oz colby jack cheese
D: This new food I bought at Harris Teeter. It is this vacuum packed raw chicken breast stuffed with pesto and sliced almonds and cheese. It is 7 oz. The whole package has 320 calories and 42 g of protein! If I eat half tonight and half tomorrow, it's two perfect meals! You just microwave it for 4-5 minutes and apparently it steams in the bag. Sounds weird, but it's quick and easy and high in protein and has no carbs so I am gonna give it a try.
Totals are around 600 calories, 78 g of protein, 12 g of carbs, 25 g of fat
E: Day off today to get my hair did
V: Just now
W: Will get 75 oz
What's on your menu today? Em
We will miss you while you are gone! Have a safe trip! Take some pictures to share. The chicken sounds good. Do not worry about your hair even if it all falls out I am sure you will have on a cute outfit! LOL! It won't all fall out! I hope you have a great time. Take care. I get to use my new digital kitchen scale (Thanks EM!) as I am incorporating some spinach and more tuna in my meals to help get my iron up. Hopefully I will feel better soon. **Feeling a little fruity had a pineapple yogurt for breakfast instead of vanilla. **I turned in my name to the animal shelter and they said they would review my introduction letter. So now I just wait to hear from them. Meanwhile I have some puzzles and books to entertain me during the day. The weather is so nice I am going for a walk today. Hope everyone has a great day and an even better weekend! Take care!

Sara, I hope you're feeling better soon, and that the animal shelter has a spot for you. Good luck!

You won't lose any more or less hair by dying it, Em. I dyed mine while it was falling out and it seemed to appear fuller. Have fun in England. I am jealous as I would love to go anywhere! You will do fine I am sure. B 1/2 csteel cut oats with nut mix and 1/2 banana with peanut butter L 4 oz grilled chicken(leftovers) 1/4c green beans 1/4 c sweet potatoes S whole grain crackers with peanut butter D 3-4 oz lean pork loin and 1/2 c broccoli with cheese S 3/4 c Greek yogurt with nuts. Water and vitamins are on track. Exercise will be done after lunch as I work at the food pantry today. Will do 30 minutes treadmill and 20 minutes on the bike too. Have a great day everyone!
Another on track day, Karen. Nicely done!

B:I thought I was making my life easier and buying a seafood salad pre-made from the deli.Well I should have googled it before. It was full of sugar and salt.It was imitation crab.Stopped eating that and had a yogurt.
L:Shrimp which is just plain so I know that is a good source of protein.
S:Cheese stick
Dinner:Not sure yet we have a dinner meeting tonight.I am sure it will have something I can find there.
Vitamins:check
Getting my water in.
Good luck with your hair.I am shedding only a little bit.
That Harris Teeter sounds good where did you get it from?
Have a safe trip.
I was surprised to see that about surimi (imitation crab) as well. And when delis make salads, they usually add a heaping helping of sugar, too. I bet you could make a version at home which would be much lower in sugars and carbs by buying the packaged surimi and adding your own dressing to it.
