I, like oneatatime, am shocked by the insensitivity I am reading here. I just don't understand where all of this is coming from. Starnaenae was asking for help. Of course we can all say whatever we want, but can we all just be kind?

Likely no offence was intended but my dispassionate view is that some of the responses were less empathetic than they might have been. Particularly the suggestion that the OP effectively ?wasted? her honeymoon by having a child. Regrettable if intentional but maybe I am also too sensitive!

Normally I wouldn't post a second time in a thread like this. But it appears I need to clarify part of my response.

Nothing is ever "wasted" by a pregnancy or by giving birth. Honestly I would be shocked if I had used that word but I would have to go back and re-read my post and I'm not in a position to do that right this moment.

I am very happy that you have a new son and I congratulate you on that precious new life. I believe my post said something along the lines of "using up your honeymoon period" while you were pregnant. I can see how that may have been misinterpreted.

If that is the case, I am truly sorry. The thought that anything is ever "wasted" on a new child never even crossed my mind, I know it didn't because I quite simply do not believe that to be true. A lot is lost when people are communicating from behind screens.

Enjoy your newest family member.

Isnt breast feeding supposed to burn 2000 calories a day?

Time is flying!

At my last appointment I discussed Pregnancy with the team - for future - not now as I am 9 months post op. I had A few questions and naturally some concerns. What was explained to me was that getting pregnant during the early stages can impact weight loss following the birth - I was told that SOME people struggled after pregnancy and have a very hard time reaching goal if they do at all. I was Encouraged to get to goal before I consisered pregnancy but I know In your case it was a blessing and completely welcome surprise.

I think now at this time it will require a lot of effort, whereas during the honeymoon stages it feels effortless. This could very well be just a stall - and your body adjusting. Remember there's a ton of hormonal changes after having a baby and hormones are a pain!! Also a lack of sleep will definitely impact weight loss. I say keep playing around with your calories, protein, carbs and go from there. Also if you are in the clear for exercise, definitely integrate that into your day (it won't be easy with a new baby!)

you can do this :)

First off What a amazing gift. Congratulations! Nothing in my life has been more wonderful then my girls.

Second this whole thred stressed me out just reading it. Lol I called my nurse in Hamilton and she said 850 is not to much. She said if I go lower then 750 I risk going into starvation mode.

I am no where near post baby but I was not able to breastfeed either of my girls and I was not even cutting down calories. It was another issue all together.

On a side note, your body does go through alot and it is just trying to figure out what's going on. It will come off. You will do it. Going back to work adds structure and the body like a schedule. I am sooooo glad he is a good sleeper. You know the basics and that is what you are doing. I am sure it will all start clicking soon.

God bless your little one.
